Through the lense of my Nokia C3 (Part1)

I have the good fortune for the past two to three years ago to travel to numerous places that I have never been before, be it in Malaysia itself or outside of Malaysia .
If you have asked me 10 years  back  I would have wave it off the idea of traveling  with the excuse that I couldn't afford it .  Well Hogwash to that excuse !
So I decided to post a few sceneries that  I took throughout the years with my faithful Nokia C3.
It has produced some awesome pictures, just have a look.

These two pictures were taken in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia . The island that you see at the background is called  Pulau Kapas (direct translation would be Cotton Island) . For those who are planning for a bit of R&R , totally an ideal place to go, with its crystal (and I do mean crystal blue sea water) and soft , clean sandy beach. (I'll probably write my adventure there one of these days) I went there twice!
 Taman Permaisuri

This is my favorite , jogging place, it's near my apartment in Kuala Lumpur. It's only one part of the park, there's a garden inside, lots of hills to exercise your knee muscles, there's also kiddie playgrounds.
There's aerobic, music and best part are the friendly people and gardeners.
I took this during my stay in Pangkor Island. Woke up early in the morning , and jog along the beach, Pamela Anderson Baywatch style :)

Went to Bath in 2011 while visiting my brother there

Totally got the picture mixed up . This one was in Paris 2011

These two pictures (the top and bottom) were taken in Bath.

The building below is very famous, they've shot a lot of BBC dramas with this building. One of them was BBC-Persuasion

Ahhhh, Wales, very beautiful, the view was breath taking, calm and so peaceful
We stopped for lunch in a park at Wales and I couldn't help to take this picture of a little cottage (don't know whether you can see it or not) but its really pretty.

Gotta go to bed, but the remaining two picutres were taken in Paris.
Enjoy and nite nite :)

Cat-O-Rama

Hey :) How u dooooing ?!
I'm too sexy for this chair , too sexy for this chair .....

Hi ho there.......
Cute cat isn't he ?
My house is like a pit -stop for stray cats, one day you'll see this little cutie pie and another day you'll see a different cat. I'll try to capture more pictures of the cats.

This furball is adorable and he knows  how to work it.
Ever seen the cat in shrek, the one that was voiced my Anthonio Banderas?

Yeah, this one!

All beady eyed and everything....... well this stray cat sure can do the beady eyes to perfection. He won't let you strut away without his food! He'll try to twine himself around your feet making it impossible to walk and to make sure that he has totally got you under he's whiskers..........like a WWF pro, he'll flung himself on your feet , total immobilization. ............and.......AND lay on his back with his feet up, for a belly rub.

All you can do is cooe "OOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh how cute " The next thing you know , you forked out a few RM (Money) to buy a few packs of cat food!
Funny thing happens when my dad tries to feed him when I'm not around, he gets all He-Man style but when  I feed him, its all rolly polly, beady eyes, rub my tummy thing!

But this little bugger has been hanging around for a while unlike most males that I met.
I'm deciding what name to give him .........Captain Kirk (because he has an entourage of female kitty cats that follow him around). Armstrong (for the singer) cause he has this raspy sound when he meows (Hmmmmmmm I wonder ..... Is that what attracts the girls?) Casanova or just plain Buddy.......

I'll fix his name once I know he'll stick for a little while longer..... :)

Juice barista extravaganza!

Wal lah! final product, pure juice, no water, no sugar and no artificial ingredients added.

Freshly blended , look at the gorgeous frost filled with nyummy vitamin C goodness!

I think I should have started with the raw picture above and come down with the final product :)

Chuck it all in babes, one tomato, two oranges (well one was miranda orange another one  was sunkist), and last but not least the star of the juice 4 star fruits (  I know to sappy right)

Hi ho there,

Been a while since I wrote.....ok been a few days since I last wrote.
I've been writing about food and my misadventure with cooking so I was thinking of writing about juice!

It's the star fruit season and the star fruit tree at my parents house has been baring fruits in abundance or should I say by the buckets!.

I came back from Kuala Lumpur to Seremban today and found a large bucket filled with star fruits, green colored, yellow colored and even the very ripe ones, golden orange colored (although normally this very ripe type is not used for making juice) It would be a shame to let it all go to waste!

Now I'm not a fruit expert but star fruit is known to help reduce blood pressure . I can vouche on this one as my blood plessure has a tendency to fluctuate , excalating almost to 150 whenever I feel stress or I didn't have enough of sleep. It has helped to reduce my blood pressure many times but bare in mind it is not miracle fruit , healthy lifestyle, enough sleep, exercise and controling of stress can avoid blood pressure , hypertension and stroke. ( Unfortunately I wasn't the type that was able to control my anger and stress)

Tomato is awesome to give a healthy color to your skins plus its reach in vitamin C, antioxident and help release good hormons (take that caffeine!)

Blend everything in (oh yeah cut in chunks first as you want to squeeze out all those cool juice and that nothing goes to waste)

The photos will show you the final result. If you like it chill , just put it in the fridge or add one or two cubes of ice .

There you have it a refreshing drink either before bedtime or for  breakfast with you favorite cereal or bread and eggs.

NITE nite :)

First chop all the fruits into chunks, then....out comes the blender.

Jobsearch (just a few crack stories before bedtime)

I just came back from dinner with my close friend. It was a looooong dinner date. Left the office at 7pm and just returned home (ooh around 11.10pm)
I know you would be asking what did you do for almost 4 hours!? Easy we were job hunting.

Being in the same job and doing the same task for the last 5 years has made me bored and restless. A slow dim light has flashed above my head with a softer ting sound ( I know I'm gettting old so my idea light comes in slow mo compared to those youngster below 30 ) It's time to move on to greener pasture, that and because quite a few of my friends has jump the boat (I know I'm using a lot of cliche tonight but hey it's 12 am, my brain has gone soggy)

The idea of finding a new job is not an idea that excites me like it used to, why?because you have to update your resume and you have to go through the tedious process of ........being interviewed.

But now that I have grown older with age (hopefully wiser....hopefully) I hope to amend whatever mistakes that I have done during my previous interview sessions.

1. Be 2 hours earlier before the interview session. One hour is not enough!
Why ? Have you ever played pin ball ? It will hit one obstacle to another obstacle to another obstacle before it goes into the hole? Well that's me I'm sooo disoriented in finding a location that the several times I had to be rescued by the interviewers ! There was one time  I still couldn't find the location and sadly I reported to the interviewer and said in a sad pathetic way that I have to let the company go and that its not my destiny. (suddenly the image of titanic comes into mind and the two lovers were drifted on the plank and Jack told to the girl to let him go ) Well this interview were adament that I reached the destination in fact gave me motivation saying that give it your last shot, you can reach here! I kid you not.....to cut the story short I did go for the interview but I didn't go for the job. BUT ... the interviewer and I separated in good terms.

2. Never detract even though you know the interview is unsuccessful :)
Ok, I went for an interview for a Business Development position and you can always tell that they weren't interested in you when they said , "We will call you IF you are suitable for the position" . I know I should have ended there, politely say my thank yous and leave the room . But NO, I kept quiet for a while and then said , "So.............would I interest you in an investment funds?" I know.........I know I was lucky they didn't drag me out ....I must have MISunderstood the motivation book which states every opportunity counts!

3. You are going for a JOB interview not match making interview!
Hehehe I was following the HR officer  to the interview room when I saw this cute guy. I was totally focusing on eyeing him when I crashed smack into the photocopy machine! (It was that one time!)

4. Prepare your questions and do your homework!
ooooh this is pretty common, you know during interviews , sometimes the interviewer give a long detail of the company and you try to focus .....you really do, but you can hear twilight zone theme song  popping in your head and suddenly black and white spirals begin to appear. When they ask are there any questions? your mind just froze and in the end you entered into a job that you never realise has limited benefits. At least with research and questions , you're well prepared and know your rights ( wow I did learn somethings)

5. Bring your stationaries!

OOOh guilty! One time I actually forgot that I didn't bring a pen and had to borrow it from the front desk......Very unprofessional but I amend my ways after that I always bring a pen!

Phew, so far that's all that I can recall. Dress for the interview, so far I got that right. So heres hoping :)
NITE :)

toilet misadventure

Well , I'm not ashame to say that I have a weak bladder. When it's time to go .....I GOT TO GO...trust me on this.

So traffic jams will always be a trouble for me and living in the center of the busy city itself, Kuala Lumpur every hour and day theres always traffic jam. You can honk as loud as you want but no amount of noise will get the cars moving and you might as well blast up the radio and in my case rock down in the car
( There was one time I  was busy swaying to the music and pretending I had an electric guitar, I accidently looked at the car beside me. There was an elderly muslim lady at the passengers sit looking at me, shaking her head,(no she wasn't head banging along) My face was red as a tomato. *Sigh*There goes a prospect mother-in-law)
But the time that you should be more alert especially if you wish to travel in KL is the 5.30pm after office hours and if it rains ...... the traffic will be at a stand still and nobody can help you then.(what ever you do don't go into Kuala Lumpur on Friday from 12.30 to 2.30pm)

Lucky for me I was never stuck in a standstill jam. (alhamdulillah) In my moment of desperation I normally was able to find a gas station.
What drives me crazy is that these gas station has a tendency to close the ladies at a certain time of the day.  And that certain time will always be whenever I had an emergency. So what can a girl do in such dire situation?

We go into the Gents ( and no I don't sound excited). Being a lady I always....ALWAYS checked whether there's anyone inside and madly rushed in and madly rushed out at Olympic time.Yes I do sometimes bump into the men ......
when I rushed out .
No.....I have never caused any men to run screaming out of the toilet just because I was inside .Never...
It puzzles me  that when I asked another lady to help out and be my look out  as I dashed  inside the Gents, she  gave me this alarm look and said ....

"But bbuut that's the Gents!" like I am going into a forbidden territory and she didn't  want to be my accomplice in my devilish plan to empty my bladder.   I didn't reply to the lady, due to the fact that I REALLY HAD TO GO and didn't bother to see whether she was helping me out or not. Another fact is that it's pretty common sense isn't it?
If you don't have an option you can't just stand there and wet yourself, you have to go and look at other solution and my solution is to take the door that is open which was the gents.

I know that I'm rambling a lot  and none of it make sense but if you could tick the reaction blocks below that would be awesome.
Nite from Malaysia

continuation of dusty old story

I find a few more :

I opened my eyes slowly. I was in the bushes ,luckily nothing was broken. The quad bike that I had inexperiencely driven down the steep muddy hill had turned turtle and lay beside me. I heard a loud groan on my right. Calvin struggled to untangle himself from the undergrowth. He looked up the hill and froze. Puzzled, I looked up.My jaw dropped.
It was me, at the edge of the hill looking down. It was watching a re-enactment of what had happen a while ago. I saw Calvin calling me and followed suit.
"Are we dead?"asked Calvin.

It was like watching Astro Beyond, so real.....but we were standing in the bushes. I smack Calvin's head, in retaliation he did the same.

"Ow!" Definitely not dreaming. We saw the rest of our group at the top of the hill. We yell and shouted, but it was as if we weren't there. Nobody showed any response that they saw us. Sofia went down the track. Cautiously going down, she was just at the side where we crashed. Calvin tried to grabbed her bike, what was suppose to be solid, rippled away and sofia vanished!
"we're not dead." I looked at Calvin . For almost half an hour, we've been playing jump-in-front-of your -friend and see them evaporated.
Calvin picked up a rock.
"Solid."
He threw it in front of him . There was a ripple and the rock was gone.
Base on theory of newton , gravity would have played its part. But NO the rock was gone. Voosh!

Calvin reached out his hand infront. There was only muddy down sloppy tracks but half his hand disappeared. There was a slight ripple as if he had put his hand in water.

Calvin pulled his hand back. It was still intact. Calvin let out a sigh of relief. As bravado as he was I didn't realise that he was scared.
He flex his hand and moved his fingers. He smiled at me
"It feels cold and wet." He rushed at his bike and pulled it from the bushed.
"We're going there," he said , managing to free his bike.
Calvin has already up turn my bike and looked at me.
"Come on, " he said starting the engine, facing the muddy track
Calvin didn't wait for my reply. He sped to the invinsible ripple thingy. Just like that he vanished.... I pushed my bike to the place where he disappeared.
"CALVIN!"I shouted. There was silence. I got on the bike and started the engine...
Should I , shouldn't I. What if I won't come out....my mind was playing with me and my heart was pounding like an african drum. I close my eyes and was to exhilarate when something hit my helmet. HARD! It fell on the ground. Curious, I picked it up. It was Calvin's watch.

"Here goes...."

It was so bizzare. I felt like I was passing through a tunnel of water, with a swirling mixture of rainbow colors all around me, except that they looked like dysfunctional images. I sped on hoping that I would find an exit. The faster I went the colder it seemed, there was frost on my glasses. I was beginning to feel like a human popsicle when everything was warm.....and the light. ......
"Watch out !"
I felt a sharp pain and again felt myself flung into the familiar but stinging landing port of the bushes.
Through my haze of pain , I saw Sofia and Calvin looking down at me. I grabed Sofia's hand and got up.
"Why did you jump infront of me? I checked before coming down, the track was clear," said a concern Sofia. I looked at Calvin confused. Didn't we saw them all go down? Calvin just shrugged his shoulder.

Calvin drove me back home.
"Here's your watch." I held out the watch to him.
"I'm wearing it." On his wrist was the exact watch that I was holding, identical to every inch.
WHAT IS GOING ON
There ya go folks. Wow I think I did story almost six years ago. ohhhhh well. I'll continue on my blogg tomorrow and put in some more pictures. Nite nite :)

Dusty short stories

Once upon a time ago, (and I do mean ancient ago)  I used to like writing stories. Ghost stories, supernatural stories, weird stories, repetitive stories which leaves people scratching their heads and saying how many "Doors" does this girl want to say in one sentence ......hehehe my friend used to say mind boggling because its too windy that I actually never came to the ending :) Don't start me on the grammar , you think NOW is hideous wait until you've read  all my old stories!

Unfortunately I've never got back to writing except my weekly gibberish ranting and misadventure. OOOh  I got a new adventure which involves bladders and mens' toilet but I'll save that for another day.

I was browsing through Receiptstories , (if you love short stories and I do mean really short , like 100 words! There are a lot of good stories at http://www.receiptstories.my

I thought that the website had been shut down as it was under maintenance a long time.

I found a few of my stories that I wrote 4/5 years ago.

Here's a few that I could find, the rest I forgot the title :

My Friend
I always passed her every day. I would get out of the office and walked towards the store. She would always be there, always, sweeping away outside. Her movement, painfully slow, her arms riddled with arthritis. Sometimes, when I wasn’t in a good mood for a ‘chat’ I would quietly sneaked past her. Thinking that I had gotten away, I heard a loud “Uh!” .I turned, and saw her waving with a big smile on her wrinkled face. She never talks and I never probe. But she will always be there waving or smiling as I walk by.

My Wish
I should have kept my big mouth shut.!How I wish I didn’t release the magic genie. So grateful was the genie that it granted me three wishes. The first wish, I wanted to be the riches woman in the world. Wooooshhhh! My wish was granted , I was so rich, I had my own kingdom. My second wish, I wanted to be the most beautiful woman in the world!Wooossssh! I was so beautiful that Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman and David Beckham propose to me!My third wish, I wanted a husband that equally match my power! Woooossh…..the genie became my husband!

Kiddies
I have enjoyed being alone my whole life. Sure it's pathetic but your life is easier, you do what ever you want and you hold people at arms length, you won't get hurt.Simple............
That was before my brother dumped his whole breed on me for a week. Office trip, my foot! Two rugrat nephews and a mischievous niece.
Now the house is all noisy and messy. They were born with ear plugs, I tell ya!Never listens, endless questions, always bored, the worse part is the cuddles.Warm squishy ones, manipulating with those big eyes.Bagh humbug!

Sigh.........but why do i miss them so.....

Wok With Lin

Mom , I burn the kitchen down!!!   Kidding! I am happy to tell you that after years and years of practise I have mastered the art not of cooking but not to burn the kitchen down by controlling the stove!

Mind you,  I did almost burn the kitchen down. oooh it happen in the not far future (acutally last October)  I forgot that I was boiling  a few instant rice packets and the water had dried up! I really thought that I had enough time to turn off the stove to get a nice cube like rice pack . I was slugging  down the stairs when I smelt something foul. I quickly galloped down and was greeted by black smoke coming from the kitchen. The fire on the stove was slowly burning a hole in my pan! Quickly I turn of the stove and in lightning speed put the pan into the sink and drench the small fire with full blast water from the pipe. By this time everybody in the house had been on red alert as the black smoke had floated upstairs and there was an unmistaken  strong smell of something burning.

"What happen ? What's buring?" Mom, dad and my brothers plus sister-in-law and kids in tho rushed into the kitchen whereby I had this sorry face and showed the big hole in the pan the fire had burn into......

But that was last year. This is 2013....March..... and I was itching to cook again. So today's menu was fish curry, fried soybean with chili paste (sambal) and fried veggie.

First the ingredients:
Ok just if your wondering how come there's no fish.......there is a fish but I was too busy (busy crying from cutting the onions and garlic) to take the fish picture.

Ehhhhmmm...... so I will be your chef for today. For the fish curry , I used pomfret fish. I blended the red onions, garlic and ginger along with the chilie, until everything is beautifully mixed together. I heated the pan with oil and aniseed to give that nice smell (wow I do sound like a chef) . I didn't put the mixture yet , because you have to put the secret ingredients which is ..........curry of course, but for this I mix meat curry and fish curry together with the mixture (trust me it taste nice!).
T
hen I fried curry mixture in a pan, quite sometime as you want the chilli and curry to be really cook, normally  I would stir untill it's slightly brown or the oil that the mixture absorb earlier emerge (follow me so far, no? so do I)
Anyway when you see any of these signs, you pour in tamarind water ( I don't use coconut milk in my curry , more healthy like that but make sure you don't put too much water) To avoid it from being too sour, add a little water but not too much. I mean curry is only garnishing on the rice , you  don't drown your rice with curry do you? Boil the curry for a while before putting in the fish, if not your fish will be overcook and might break into pieces (hey take it from someone who has done this mistake sooooo many times) add salt (up to your  taste but don't make it too salty!)

after you put in the fish let it simmer a low fire  for ooooh five minutes (I think) then you add the yummy ladies finger. :)

Waaaaaaalaaah the end result, again  the fish is hidden in the curry.

Ooooooh I can't help it here's a picture of my spicy fried soybean and fried veggie.

That's alll from Wok with Lin. I would have been bursting with pride had I not broken the mop and a
bucket while cleaning the kitchen :P

Oh well at least I didn't burn down the kitchen this time right ?

Where's the Car?

Dear Diary,

I don't deny that I am a disoriented , dis coordinated (if there is such a word) and disorganized person.

If I have an alter ego in the comic universe, my nemesis would be the GPS.

With the hundreds of 'redirecting' that I had caused I would  not be surprised if the GPS came alive and smack me on the head.

But GPS also has  its  shortfalls by all the near accidents it caused, seriously shouldn't a GPS tells you beforehand to turn right and not immediately after ordering you to go to the far left side of a three lane road! , causing
 A) for you to miss your turning and
B) nearly colliding with a car when you are too absorb in listening to the directions!

And what is it with satellite undetected?!

Anyhow back to my story. I have a tendency to get lost ,getting on the wrong bus is not uncommon to me but it sure gives an awesome story to tell.  Little did I know that my family and I have a lot in common.

Normally on my day off , I would go to Seremban, Lake Garden to jog. Occasionally, my parents and little brother would follow and after an hour and a half of sweating and puffing (lack of oxygen, lack of oxygen)we would go to search for breakfast.

One fine morning , after going our rounds, my parents and I decided to eat breakfast at an Indian Restaurant (which makes the nicest Rawa Tosei :).

There were not many people at the restaurant on a Sunday morning. We ordered our food and  ate.

After breakfast, we went to the car.

I could hear dad pressing the car key to unlock the car,

CLICK CLOCK!

I pulled the door handle........It wouldn't open ! Puzzled I pulled again , still it would not open! I looked at my mom and dad and noticed that they were facing the same problem......Mom was still trying to open the door  while Dad was franticaly pushing the button on the car keys ....CLICK CLOCK CLICK CLOCK.

Why wouldn't the doors open.

The three of us backed away from the car. It was correct, metalic silver.

I was still scratching my head when my dad gave a loud guffaw laugh and pointed.

THERE, beside the car that we were trying to get in was our metallic silver Proton Perdana waiting patiently for us .
The one that we were trying to open was a metallic silver Honda!

If the Perdana had feelings it would have said OUCH! All of us were laughing so hard we could hardly stand. I mean if it was only me , understandable ........but this was all THREE of us, the two voice of reasons trying to pry open a strange car. We thank our lucky stars that :

1. That Honda's alarm system wasn't working. It will be pretty awkward explaining to the owner what we were doing.
2. There's no CCTV there, imagine what the police would think if they saw a family trying to break into a car!

We were still laughing all the way back home.

Hey , it was a harmless mistake, I'm happy that I finally know where my absent mindedness comes from but seriously, if you notice the picture above , come on they do look similar from the side.

 Right ?
That was not the end of the story. I had another mistaken car incident  which happen a few years back, when I just started working.

It was late night, around 11  pm and we forgot  to buy bread for breakfast. Dad and I went to the 7 Eleven near our house. At that time we had a green proton wira. We were the only car at the parking lot. Dad waited in the car while I went inside to buy the  bread.

I seriously do not remember what I was thinking about , but I'm sure my mind was somewhere else.OBVIOUSLY.

Anyway, I bought the bread and went out of the store. I did not look left and right.
My dad's car was there just in front of me. The parking lot was dark, the only light was coming from the row of shophouses itself.

I opened the door to the passenger seat.... Got in.
Closed the door ...

I just looked out the window, not looking at my dad..
One minute...
Two minute....

I was curious, why were we not moving?

 'Abah, why aren't we .........Yikes!!!'

There...... At the driver's seat, was a lady. She was looking at me in horror ( If you watch horror movies such as Halloween , when the killer was going to strike and they zoom to the victims face frozen in terror, yup it was exactly like that!) Her handphone was at her ear,her eyes were big and her mouth was wide open,  but no sound came out.

One minute.....Both of us were staring at each other.

I collected my composure.

" SORRY,SORRY, SOOOO SORRY" I quickly jumped out of the car and rushed to my dad's car ,which, was beside the lady's car.

Trembling I got into the car.

'Why so late? 'Asked dad, oblivious to the whole incident.

I didn't DARE to say anything.

Boy , I must have given that lady a scare.

Moral of the story people , always lock your doors...

You never know who might jump in ! Whether innocently or not!

My drawings :) Syazlin's Mini Art galery :)

Trip to Bath 2011

Inspired during my family vacation in Langkawi 2012. This is the first time I experimented with oil pastel. Not bad for a beginner :)

Daydreaming  that I was a princess in a magical castle which floats in between land and sky :) Watch too much fantasy movies :)
We went island hopping during my stay at Langkawi in 2012. There was an eagle island that we stopped at and the boatman fed them fish but alas this was not taken from that event. We did see eagles circling above us . They swooped and dived down to get food but it was too fast  to capture so I had to settle for a website photo instead as my reference :(

OOh adapted this from a website photograph

I love my village in Tg Rambutan, Rembau. Before changes came that is. We were watching our cousins , racing , using palm leaves as chariots. One cousin was sitting at one end of the palm leaf and another was pulling on the leafy end acting as a horse rushing to beat my two brothers at the finishing line.

Now the old dried up sawah padi is gone  and in its place is a corn field.
So sad, we used to run wild through the muddy padi field, and screamed when we thought we saw snakes, which we never did!
We even flew our own hand-made kites at that field.
I was 9years old in this painting, and that baby is my cousin, she's 24 now! Good old times :)

Took this from a photograph

Hehe I would like to describe this picture as a symbol of a hopeless romantic drowning in despair :P Story of my life :) Initially I just wanted to draw a rose but one thing led to another and UREKA !

Misty mountain,  remind me of the Hobbit song Misty mountain cold

Picasso :)

Enlightenment

This drawing was inspired  from two photographs. The clouds and sea was inspired by a picture I took from a trip to Pangkor. The ship , was adapted from a magazine photo.

I have my head in the  clouds :)Totally had no idea what I was doing when I painted this but hey before I knew it , it formed something!

My friend went to Switzerland and he took loads of pictures. I particularly like a photo where it was used as reference to this drawing

Storm is coming!

Aaaaah fresh calm , waterfall.

My very first try at acrylic!

Oooh tried to do a video which you can view at this link :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SawYg777FUQ

Lasagna :)

Hi ho ,
New adventure! Been a while haven't written anything I actually forgotten how to write ! Oooooh tried to make lasagna today and I'm proud to say after years of practice from my muffin escapade I have finally able to bake without smoke coming out of the microwave (plus this is a brand new high tech microwave design to accommodate to the most handycap baker aka bakers who do not know how to use the microwave) plus it comes with its own safety precaution measures for toddlers (yeah right as if toddlers can bake I scoffed at the manual until my mom says what it meant by toddlers is new beginners) ooooooohhhh.....With the confidence of an experience cook (hehehe three times a year cooking ya) I diced the garlic, onions, and fried the meat to let out the juice (waaah I should be in master chef until I nearly burned it......but the main point was NEARLY) chucked in tomato, tomato spaghetti paste, mixed veggie into the wok.Yes you heard of Wok with Yan this is Wok with Lin. trash some oregano, parsley and black pepper. I had the smell right!! Then comes the white sauce, butter, mixed with flour (now I was struggling here cause the ingredients didn't say which flour, I contemplated corn flour, baking , herb flour , plain flour or pulut flour. In the end what the heck I put two tbspoon of plain flour some milk (I snitch my dad's low fat milk, hey at least we're health conscience !) and melted the cheese for that cheesy goodness.
White sauce done, put a little salt and black paper so that it won't be too cheesy. I was about to spread the lasagna sheet on the casserole when it dawn on me, man the sheets were too hard.....will it cook? I tried to call my lifeline (which are my friends who normally cook!) but alas none of them could give an answer, so it is up to Wok with Lin to make the call. So I put the sheets in hot water to loosen it up (I know, sheets are also stress you know!) and spread it in the baking pan Haha! bet you think I forgot.... I greased the pan with butter first!!!!! So it won't burn...then pop into the microwave for 35 minutes . Ate it for lunch , dad loved it but I think the white sauce wasn't that thick ....oh well this Picasso is going back to the drawing boards....... nite nite. till then....ok i'm gettting hype up.
(Ps : Dad totally wolf up the remaining lasagna.....Pretty proud of myself :) pat pat pat......
